Expressive arts therapies are for everyone of any age interested in utilizing them for healing purposes. The arts can help clients gain access to emotions, feelings, and experiences from their life that are difficult to put into words. These can be deep feelings from the subconscious that are often sensory or somatic memories that are very useful to examine in therapy. Expressive therapies can include art making, music, dance, drama, and various combinations of art, music, dance and drama.
Art therapy can be used with telehealth virtual therapy sessions. Other modalities of expressive therapies can include poetry, journaling, cartooning, song writing, story telling, etc.
